Take up the pen
April 22, 1997
Perhaps we are seeing a renaissance in our near future. If students are required to pay for Internet access, perhaps they will, instead, take up the pen and some paper.
Students do not need the Internet to write a paper; they need a pen, some paper and their minds. In fact, using the Internet simply bypasses the human mind. Students no longer compose their own essays; there are probably computer programs for that.
I wonder how many students have ever written a full page of words (of any kind)? I wonder, in the future, how many students will even know how to operate a pen?
TAKE UP THE PEN!! Write, write, write!!!
Because soon, you will need a computer to do anything — and you’ll be paying for it if you like it or not.
