We know that everyone must be tired of hearing about GSB.
If fact, the end of the school year is near, finals are around the corner and the last thing people want to think about is student government.Even when it is his or her own government.
But now we are asking for one last breath from you. We are asking you to make one final effort to help shape your government in its efforts to rewrite the constitution.
The effort is minor — present a fee card, check yes or no and you’re done.
About 300 of you voted over the weekend. This is impressive considering it was Veishea weekend.
And the election will be held through the end of this week.
However, 4,700 people need to vote to make this election valid. This means about 900 people a day, every day need to cast his or her ballots.
And, it’s not hard. For the most part, election officials are coming to you.
You may have the chance to vote at your house meeting in the dorms. You may be able to vote in the food service line and at the bus stops around campus.
But it only takes a moment to make a severe impact on the future of student government at Iowa State.
For once, have a voice in the politics of Iowa State students. Glance over the new draft. It’s on the Web and it was in Wednesday’s Daily (Apr. 16).
See how it may directly affect you and the student group or organization to which you belong. Check yes or no and move on. Pass those finals and have a good summer.
Whatever you do, though, take the time to vote. Don’t let a year’s worth of work done by fellow students of yours go to waste because of ignorance or a lack of interest.
Decide whether the new constitution is right for you. Let GSBknow if you like it the way it is, or if you want a change.
