Daily needs more accurate headlines
March 3, 1997
“Students like 3-day election format, don’t like the nonvoters,” declared a recent headline in the Iowa State Daily. This is an example of the Daily attempting to portray an absolute minority view as the majority opinion.
Since 85 percent of ISU students are nonvoters, a more accurate headline should have read, “Students don’t give a rat’s ass about the GSB, or it’s election format.”
