Davis test results a private matter

Elizabeth Gries

Upon reading Feb. 28th’s article, “Intelligence test trips up Davis,” I feel compelled to write, questioning the motive of the Daily. I found the article to be extremely degrading and, quite frankly, none of lowa State’s business. Davis’ intelligence assessment is a private matter.

The Daily lacked consideration and common decency when publishing this for all of lowa State to read. It seems ironic that for two years the Daily has nothing but great things to say of Davis, yet when he elected to pursue the option of a professional football career the first article printed is a pessimistic one.

I hope in future publications the Daily will try to exhibit some tact.
