March 19
* Sally Evens, 1652A Buchanan Hall, the custodial supervisor, reported that one of her custodians found some computer equipment in the Goodwill box in Buchanan Hall. Both modems had ISU numbers on them.
* Giridhar Nandikotkuv, 4900 Westbrook Dr. #31, reported that someone took his coat out of Room B51C Physics Hall. He said he had left the door open for a short while, and when he returned, the coat was gone. Estimated loss is $100.
* Michael E. Schuckers, 5215 W. Lincoln Way #2, reported that while his vehicle was parked in Lot 19A someone broke out the rear window. Estimated damage is $300.
March 20
* Kevin J. Uphaus, 3262 Willow Hall, reported that while his vehicle was parked in Lot 63, someone entered the vehicle, and took some cassette tapes, and a video cassette tape. Estimated loss is $65.
*Timothy L. Bartleman, 3242 Willow Hall, reported that while his vehicle was parked in Lot 63, someone broke out the driver’s door window, entered his vehicle, and took his cell phone, and his CD player. He said the dash was damaged where they took the CD player out of the vehicle. Estimated damage and loss is $1,150.
* Dr. Gordon Youngquist, 2037 Sweeney Hall, reported that someone took the printer cartridge out of the printer in room 2053 Sweeney Hall. Estimated loss is $30.
* Francis N. Kanisru, 1499 Hawthorn Court, reported that he left his bicycle in the bike rack on the east side of Atanasoff Hall while he went into the building. When he returned, the bike was gone. He said the bike was unlocked at the time of the theft. Estimated loss is $25.
* Charlene Powelson, 347 Helser Hall, reported that a hand held radio was either lost or stolen in November of 1996. She said Mike Oliver, a Department of Residence employee, left the radio in a room in Friley Hall, and when he realized he didn’t have it, he went back to the room, but the radio was not there. Mike thinks that the radio was misplaced, not stolen. He could not remember the number of the room in which he was working. Estimated loss is $1,200.
* Brian K. Williams, 203 Campus Ave. #10, reported that he locked his bicycle to the bike rack near Atanasoff Hall while he went to class. When he returned, the bike was gone. Estimated loss is $1,420.
* James M. Elmore, 4310 Larch Hall, reported that while his vehicle was parked in Lot 85, someone damaged the rear view mirror. He said he found the mirror hanging from the ceiling of his car and the doors unlocked. He said he usually locks the door. There were no signs of forced entry found. Estimated damage is $80.
March 21
* Nathan Brosher, 10219 Knapp Hall, reported that he received four unwanted phone calls from a male.
* OWI arrest, Scheman Building.
* Destruction/damage/vandalism of property, Hamilton Hall.
* Kellie Van Nordstrand, 4125 Elm Hall, reported that she left her bicycle in the bike rack on the east side of Roberts Hall. When she returned, the bike was gone. She said the bike was not locked at the time of the theft. Estimated loss is $50.
* Yvo Bosch, 21020 Floral Bay, Forrest Lake, Minn., reported that he took his necklace off and put it in his gym bag while he played volleyball. He said he thinks it may have fallen out of a hole in the bag. Estimated loss is $100.
March 22
* Jane Peterson, professor of journalism, reported that someone gained entrance to her locked office in Hamilton Hall and used her computer.
* Officer received a report from a Student Reserve Officer that he was following a possible intoxicated driver, westbound on Lincoln Way from Sheldon. When officer arrived, he noticed the driver was weaving in her lane. The officer pulled the vehicle over at North Dakota and Westbend Drive. When officer approached the driver’s side of the vehicle to talk to the driver, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. The officer administered field sobriety tests to the driver, Eva Della Mae Stevens, 1020 Garfield Ave., which she failed. The officer placed Stevens under arrest for OWI.
* Steven Hasstedt, ISU Horticulture Farm, reported that some time during the night, someone damaged the mail box. Estimated damage is $40.
March 23
* Subject at Birch/Welch/Roberts Hall having emotional problems.
March 24
* Cassie Hackenmiller, 253 Linden Hall, reported that she has received several harassing phone calls.
* Officer stopped a vehicle on Elwood Drive, near the entrance to VMRI for going the wrong way. Officer administered field sobriety tests on the driver, Christopher Vandyke, 237 Ash Ave., which he failed. The preliminary breath test showed him to be under the legal limit. Vandyke was cited for .02 violation, and released.
* Cy-Ride reported there was a vehicle in Lake Laverne. Upon arrival, the officer talked with the owner of the vehicle, Angie Hopkey, 2102 Sunset Drive. She said she had parked the vehicle in a parking stall on the west side of the Memorial Union. She said she either forgot to set the parking brake, or left the vehicle in neutral, causing the vehicle to roll out of the stall and into the lake. Estimated damage to bushes is $125. The vehicle was towed out of the lake.
* Grant Steinfeldt, 1705 14th St., Eldora, reported that while his vehicle was parked in Lot 29, someone struck the vehicle with a golf ball. Estimated damage is $100.
