Losing perspective

Nathan Gerber

I regret that issues such as Catt Hall and unjust punishment of students surface on our campus. I always applaud student groups that strive to make changes in current university policy that they believe is wrong. The best changes occur when the status quo is challenged.

The September 29th Movement came into the spotlight while causing a commotion about the naming of Carrie Chapman Catt Hall. The Movement dedicated a lot of time and energy to the renaming of Catt Hall.

Now it seems that The Movement is dedicating all of its time to opposing university punishments levied because of its unregistered gathering. What happened to the original push for the renaming of Catt Hall? It doesn’t seem to be the issue that is important.
