The Ames Community School District is recruiting parent and community members to serve on the Extended Learning Program Committee.

The program provides services and resources to meet the needs of talented and gifted students.

Committee members will serve a term of two years beginning in April 1997.

The committee will meet approximately once a month on weekdays but more frequently during the first six months including summer.

The immediate task of the committee will be to conduct an extended learning program review. A report of this program review will be presented to the Ames School Board in the fall of 1997.

All interested parties may apply. Board representation is desired. Experience in the area of extended learning is not required.

The deadline for applications is March 31. Application forms and copies of the committee job description are available at the Lincoln Administration Building at 120 S. Kellogg and any of the school attendance sites.
