Author Steve Semken will be discussing his new book, “River Tops and Tree Trunks: Notes and Reflections on Water and Wood,” at Big Table Books tonight.

The North Liberty, Iowa native has been studying water and wood for a number of years and has written about nature, rivers, boats, waterfalls and wood all over the country.
