Global Reach Internet Productions has been recognized for its production of the Ames Electronic Village, a website selected by the editors of NetGuide Magazine as a NetGuide Gold Site.

The Ames Electronic Village, the first production for Global Reach Internet Productions, is a website for the City of Ames and includes movie listings, classified advertising, commercial resources and hosts’ links to personal websites. Global Reach maintains this site as a community service for the Ames and Iowa State community.

Since the site’s debut in March 1996, it has been described as one of the best sites on the Web by NetGuide editors, who recognized the site for overall excellence in content, design and personality, and described the site as having “sparkling graphics.”

The site’s address is http://global-reach.com/ames.

“This is one of the most selective and prestigious awards on the Internet,” said Jamil Hammoud, business manager for Global Reach.

This is the second award in the last month for the site, which was also awarded the Medaille D’ for Internet Excellence in early January.

Phanos Pitiris, a representative of Global Reach, described the site as a “complete guide to the City of Ames, created to give Global Reach some exposure on the Web.”

Global Reach, an Ames-based Internet production company has produced several award-winning Web sites, such as the KASI/KCCQ site that recently was the recipient of the Editor’s Choice Award, from Look Smart, a division of Reader’s Digest.

Global Reach is located in the ISU Research Park. Pitiris encouraged anyone interested in volunteering in electronics relations to contact him at Global Reach.
