A member of the Iowa State men’s basketball team was arrested Tuesday evening on various warrants by the Ames Police Department.

At about 10 p.m., DeAndre Harris, 21, of 4335 Larch Hall, was arrested by Ames police officers.

The arrest was the result of a contempt of court warrant issued after Harris allegedly did not pay a fine for failure to have a valid driver’s license. The fine was issued last year. The arrest warrants were issued by Ames police on Nov. 26.

Harris, from Milwaukee, is a 6-foot junior reserve guard. He is a junior in liberal studies and transferred to Iowa State from Marshalltown Community College.
