An interim director has been named to the Center for Advanced Technology Development at Iowa State.

Robert Harris, associate director of the center, was named to the position last week.

He has headed CATD’s contract research programs since 1990.

He has also directed the Iowa Industrial Incentive Program, which provides state matching funds to Iowa companies for technical problem solving, and an effort to help small Iowa companies compete in the federal Small Business Innovation Research program.

The position has not been filled since Richard Gaertner retired in 1995 after heading CATD since its inception in 1987.
