Clothes from around the world will be on display this weekend.
A “kaleidoscope of color and culture” will be displayed at the Brunnier Art Museum on Sunday, March 2.
“Of One Cloth: International Fashion Show” will feature clothing styles from five continents, including countries such as India, Kenya, Guatemala and Venezuela.
The focus of the event is “bringing the world together with the clothes they wear,” according to Renee Senter, educator for University Museums.
Senter said Sunday’s event will showcase clothes supplied by members of Iowa State’s international community.
Worldly Goods, a handicrafts store located on Main Street in Ames, will have clothes for sale, and some of its products will be shown in the modeling session.
The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free. An international tea will follow the show, with cultural snacks and two types of tea being served.
The exhibition, which begins at 2 p.m., is sponsored by the Ames-ISU YWCA, Worldly Goods, the ISU International Resource Center and the Brunnier Art Museum.
