SUB discusses return of Word Up
January 23, 1997
On Wednesday, Jan. 22 the Student Union Board discussed the possibility of bringing Word Up back to the Memorial Union next month.
Word Up is a program in which students get a chance to read their original pieces of writing in front of an audience of their peers.
Julie Comine, one of the organizers of Word Up, said anyone can take part in this program.
“[Even] someone from the College of Agriculture can participate,” Comine said.
In the past, Word Up has taken place in the Maintenance Shop in the Union. However, this year it may be moved to a different room.
Organizers for Word Up are also considering moving the program from Sunday evenings to Friday evenings.
The tentative time for the start of the shows will be 7:30 p.m.
