On behalf of Youth and Shelter Services, I would like to thank the Iowa State University faculty, staff, and students who have already purchased bricks in the YSS Family History Plaza.

The bricks will be engraved with the names of people who are important members of donors’ families, whether by blood or by virtue of a special relationship of love, support, and commitment, or with the names of businesses, churches, and other community organizations which form part of the “community of caring” which is Ames.

The bricks will be placed in the Family History Plaza on the north side of YSS’ newly renovated Richard O. Jacobson Youth and Family Center (formerly the Municipal Building).

We hope that many of you will be with us this July to celebrate the dedication of this beautifully restored building, which testifies so dramatically to the value our community places on its children and families. If you have not yet purchased a brick but would like to participate, please contact the YSS Business Office, and accept our thanks for being a part of the past and future success of Youth and Shelter Services.
