From the Prof’s Mouth: Tips on Success

Don’t skip class. If you miss class for a legitimate reason (serious illness or family emergency) don’t ask the instructor, “Did I miss anything important?”
Get to class on time. If you arrive late, take the first available seat and explain after class why you were late.
Sit in the front. Avoid sitting by friends that will distract you during class.
