Iowa State University ranks in the top 10 universities across the nation to enroll National Merit Scholars.

According to the National Merit Corporation’s 1995-96 report, Iowa State ranked eighth among all universities to enroll Merit Scholars. ISU ranked fourth among all public universities for the number of Merit Scholars enrolled.

In the fall of 1996, 154 National Merit Scholars enrolled at Iowa State.
