Cooler heads prevail
December 4, 1996
Now that the month of December is upon us and the snow is starting to fall on the ground, you can see a lot of temperatures cooling.
That’s not just the physical air or the frigid dorm rooms which I refer to; that’s also the attitude of the student body.
A lot of the heated rhetoric is being forgotten or put aside as students look forward to the holidays and I for one am grateful.
I’m just as guilty as anybody and I would like to apologize to this campus for trying to turn up the heat.
I made some unfair comments about racism, particularly at KURE, which made a lot of people hot and even caused some dangerous physical resentment.
I realize now that my concern with what I believed to be a flawed programming schedule and a poor choice for general manager was not properly expressed by trying to get people worked up and pissed off.
Hopefully we can all be a little more giving and forgiving in this holiday season and all let those temperatures stay cool.
