In response to Derrick P. Grimmer’s letter to the editor in Monday’s Daily, I agree some people need to learn more about hemp.

For that matter, people need to seek information about any medication they use. Should hemp be legalized in more states for medical purposes like in California and Arizona? Sure. Many drugs are legal for medical use that would screw you up if you used them improperly. Hemp is no different. People say it’s different because it’s natural.

By one definition everything around us is natural, even if it’s fabricated by man. Like mankind itself, it had to come from somewhere. God don’t make junk.

Smoke a bowl and then go to a concert. Go to the same concert without smoking. Is the music any better when you’re high? Maybe, maybe not. If it is, fine.

Just realize you’re “medicating” yourself in order to have fun. Some people take prescription medication to enjoy a reality that others are trying to escape with pot.

Work toward your truest perception of reality. Realize that you’re part of an absolute reality you can’t escape and make the best of it.
