T.D. should win Heisman

Editorial Board

Troy Davis. He is the current epitome of Iowa State football, Iowa State athletics and Iowa State University.

He is all these because he ran 2,185 yards this season — the only NCAA football player in history to run 2,000 rushing yards or more for two seasons in a row.

All this running in the past few months has earned Davis his second trip to New York for the Heisman Trophy presentation tomorrow.

Davis is one of four candidates selected for this prestigious honor, which is awarded to the best player in college football.

His prestigious company includes Florida quarterback Danny Wuerffel, Ohio State defensive lineman Orlando Pace and Arizona State quarterback Jake Plummer.

Regardless of who is officially named the best, Troy Davis will always be the best in the eyes of Iowa State.

He has represented the school with honor, dedication, discipline and his love for the game he plays best.

Over the past season Davis has been a thrill to watch. His running has conquered some of the toughest teams in the Big 12 conference.

As the ESPN cameras focus on these final four, Iowa State will have all eyes on Davis and will be behind him all the way.

Congratulations and best of luck, Troy!

And the winner is…
