Students take action

Carol Ann Rogers

At last week’s forum on diversity, Derrick Rollins bemoaned the fact that student groups were not getting together to address the issue of diversity on campus.

Actually, a group has been meeting on Tuesday nights, throughout the semester, to talk about healing racism.

Discussion has been based on Nathan Rutstein’s book “Healing Racism in America: A Prescription for the Disease,” and students of different religious traditions, races, ethnic groups and student organizations have been participating.

The group is sponsored by the United Christian Campus Ministry (UCCM), and hopes to continue meeting next semester.

If you’re interested in joining them, keep an eye out for flyers with more info or call the UCCM.
