Prices are right at this holiday sale

For students having trouble shopping for that perfect holiday gift the International Resource Center’s holiday sale may be just the solution.

The IRC is holding their annual holiday sale on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Regency Room of the Memorial Union.

“This has been our annual fund raiser for the last four years,” said Luiza Dreasher, program coordinator for international students and scholars. “We have had an excellent turnout in the past.”

This year, there will be lots of items to choose from, such as dolls, ethnic clothing, games and an assortment of other ornaments and collectables.

The unique angle that separates this sale from any other is that the customer gets to decide the price of the item.

“We hope people will be generous,” Dreasher said. “It’s a very good cause.”

All of the money raised from this year’s sale will go toward the purchase of new items for the IRC’s Culture Kits.

“Culture Kits are a collection of artifacts and information about different countries,” Dreasher said.

The items being sold at this sale are from the Culture Kits themselves, she said.

“These are items that were taken out when the kits were updated or downsized,” she said. “There are also items that we have multiples of.”

Along with all of the dolls and clothing being sold at this year’s sale, the IRC will be selling note cards featuring dolls and masks from different parts of the world. The cards, which are usually sold for $1.50 each or $13 for a set of 10, will be sold for $1 each at this sale.
