* Blue’s Traveler has added a second show to their tour stop in Ames at C.Y. Stephens Auditorium. Shows are now scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. both nights. * Friday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m., botanist Gerould Wilhelm will lecture on “Eco-restoration” in a landscape architecture lecture series. The lecture takes place in 171 Durham Hall.

* Another in the landscape architecture lecture series on Wednesday, Nov. 13 is “Public/Private Partnership in Park Development” by Daniel Wenk, landscape architect and park superintendent of Mount Rushmore National Monument. The lecture is in 171 Durham Hall at 4 p.m.

* “Androcles and the Lion” will be performed at The Kate Goldman Children’s Theatre at the Des Moines Playhouse, Nov. 15-24. Performance dates are Nov. 15, 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., Nov. 16 and 23 at 1 p.m and 4 p.m. and Nov. 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for youths (ages 13-18) and $5 for children 12 and under. * The Octagon Shop will have its annual Holiday Open House Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday Nov. 24. Activities include a demonstrations of shcerenschnitte (papercutting) by Beth Wunder Sunday from 1-2 p.m., rubber stamping by Pat Fox on Sunday from 12-4 p.m. and a bake sale both days.
