A front-page article in yesterday’s Daily included comments from ISU veterinary medicine student John Tiemann about the death of fellow vet student Krista Rankin.

The comments were inappropriately taken from a Tuesday Ames Tribune article. The Daily did not speak with Tiemann and should not have published his comments without giving credit to the Tribune.

The Daily also reported that officials at the College of Veterinary Medicine were withholding comment until students could be notified of Rankin’s death. While true, credit for this information should also have been given to the Tribune.
