An Iowa State student was seriously injured in a three-car accident early Thursday morning.
Walter Charles Vodrazka, a 29-year-old graduate student in civil and construction engineering, is listed in fair condition at Mary Greeley Medical Center after suffering multiple injuries in a 7 a.m. accident.
The accident occurred just west of Nevada on Lincoln Highway.
According to Story County Sheriff’s deputies, Vodrazka was traveling eastbound on Lincoln Highway when slick road conditions caused him to loose control of his 1988 Jeep.
Vodrazka’s vehicle spun around on the roadway and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Leona Brown, 66, of Nevada.
Upon impact with Brown’s vehicle, Vodrazka was thrown from his jeep and landed on Brown’s car, which was then hit by a third, westbound vehicle driven by Luke Travis Ulrich, 27, also of Nevada.
Deputies said all three vehicles were a total loss.
Both Brown and Vodrazka were transported by ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center.
Deputies are still working on accident paperwork, though the investigation is considered complete. No charges are expected.
