I learned a lot from Tom Harkin and Jim Ross Lightfoot’s U.S. Senate debate.

I learned that Tom Harkin has served over two decades in Congress, doesn’t live in Iowa, voted himself a $23,000 pay raise and hasn’t received a paycheck from the private sector since the day he graduated law school.

I also learned that Senator Tom Harkin vigorously opposes the death penalty, while vigorously supporting partial-birth abortion, a procedure in which a child is prematurely delivered half-way in the last trimester of pregnancy before being terminated by hand.

Needless to say, I learned one more thing from the U.S. Senate debate: I’m voting for Jim Ross Lightfoot.
