Women have stake

Ames Area Voter Coalition

Women in Central Iowa have much at stake in the coming election.

The 1996 election is about issues that are important to all citizens, and especially to women — their education, jobs, future financial security, health care, safety and children.

The issues are complex and many women tune out the election debate because they are turned off by the partisan bickering and rhetoric.

The Ames Voter Coalition, a non-partisan coalition of women’s groups whose purpose is to educate women on the issues and to encourage women to vote, has prepared a Voter Information Guide.

This guide is available at the Ames Public Library, the kiosk in Ames City Hall, Mid-Iowa Community Action Agency and the YWCA on campus.

The coalition encourages women to study this guide to become better informed voters.

Armed with the facts, women can decide which candidates will stand up for women and families. Every vote counts. Make sure your voice is heard.
