A delivery person for Home Team Pizza was robbed outside of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity early Sunday morning.
A pizza was ordered from someone in the house shortly after 2 a.m., said Dax Abbas, owner of Home Team Pizza. When John Murphy delivered the pizza to the fraternity at about 2:45 a.m., he was pushed from behind and lost his balance. Another man then grabbed the pizza from him, Abbas said.
Murphy was on his last delivery of the night, so he immediately returned to the store and the police were contacted. “He was just kind of stunned,” Abbas said.
Ames police told Abbas that the fraternity’s president was contacted and that fraternity members would be responsible for paying for the pizza.
Murphy was not injured and the pizza was the only loss, Abbas said.
