Jillian to speak at C.Y.

Ann Jillian, actress, singer and breast cancer survivor will be in Ames on Sunday to help celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Jillian will give a speech entitled “Surviving and Thriving” at 2 p.m. at C.Y. Stephens Auditorium.
Doreen Chamberlin, special programs coordinator for the McFarland Clinic said Jillian is a “breast cancer survivor herself and her purpose and program is to let people know that you can survive breast cancer, and survive as she has done.”
Chamberlin said Jillian has become very successful in her career, as well as becoming a mother.
Everyone is invited to attend Sunday’s free program. “It’s basically to make more people aware,” Chamberlin said. “This will be an enlightening program for people, a hopeful program.”
The speech is being presented by the McFarland Clinic 50th Anniversary Speaker’s Forum and is being sponsored by the McFarland Clinic, the Bliss Cancer Center, Mary Greeley Medical Center and the American Cancer Society.
