The United States Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Iowa State a grant to study air pollution control, Congressman Jim Lightfoot announced Wednesday.
“The research at Iowa State University and the efforts to battle air pollution are very worthwhile projects,” Lightfoot said in a press release.
The $210,199 grant will start a new project in air pollution control research, said Andrea Andrews, Lightfoot’s press secretary.
ISU was chosen to receive the grant because it “has an outstanding record when it comes to research,” Andrews said.
Lightfoot believes the grant and research “will greatly benefit many Iowans.”
