Will you still love them?
October 8, 1996
This letter is actually meant for parents.
All parents!
October 11th is National Coming Out Day and some of you could be getting some news about your son or daughter concerning their identity.
If you are one of the chosen parents to be entrusted with this news, your understanding, love and willingness to accept your child is of great importance.
Remember they are the same person now as they were before you were told.
For parents whose children are not a part of the G/L/B/T, (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transsexual), community, I would ask that you sit down and talk to your child explaining that diversity is part of life.
Diversity is not something to fear or hate.
Does your child know that they can be anyone they want, they can choose to love who they want, and your love will still be there for them?
