“Newstalk,” a call-in talk show featured each Sunday at 10 a.m., will be discussing violence in music this week on KURE-FM, 88.5 MHz.

Music such as gangsta rap, heavy metal, alternative rock and industrial music are continuously under fire for describing urban and suburban violence, drugs, sex and profanity.

The show is hosted by Nicole Dorrell. Guests for the show include Mendi Antisdel, KURE music director, and Tim Frerking, university editor for the Iowa State Daily. “Newstalk” is produced by Jay Wacker, KURE communications director.
