Internationally known political activist Angela Davis will speak at the Great Hall of the Memorial Union tonight at 8. She is the keynote speaker for the Iowa State’s annual Women’s Week celebration. The topic of her lecture is “Women, Race and Class.”

In 1969 she was brought into the spotlight after being removed from her teaching position in the philosophy department at UCLA as a result of her social activism and her membership in the Communist Party.
