Davis gaining on NCAA leaders

Iowa State’s Troy Davis has moved up to fourth nationally in rushing and is second in all-purpose running.
Davis’ 241 yards against Northern Iowa on Saturday raised his season rushing total to 539, an average of 179.6 a game. That’s just slightly behind his average of 182.7 yards last year, when he led the nation. Davis was 10th nationally in rushing last week.
Texas Tech’s Byron Hanspard leads the nation with a 200.3-yard average.
Davis is averaging 225.7 yards a game in all-purpose running, which is yardage from rushing, receiving and returning kicks.
LSU’s Kevin Faulk is No. 1 with a 246-yard average.
