Conference features three business gurus

Attention all business majors: The people used as examples in Management 370 textbooks actually exist. In fact, they will soon be seen on the big screen thanks to a new conference being held this fall.

This fall, the world’s first “Worldwide Lessons in Leadership Series” will begin with three conferences to be held around the state. Drake University is sponsoring the conference viewing in Des Moines at the Adventureland Inn Palace Theater.

This conference is special because it marks the first meeting of three management gurus on stage for the first time.

Dr. Stephen Covey, Dr. Tom Peters and Dr. Peter Senge will combine their energies to give business executives and students their best ideas on “How to Make Your Team Unstoppable.”

The opening session of the four-part global leadership series is Thursday, Sept. 12. The session will span more than 40 countries worldwide via closed-circuit satellite coverage.

In addition to the Des Moines gathering, the presentation can also be viewed in Cedar Rapids and Davenport.

Iowa State Professor of Management John Wacker was pleased to hear about the series.

“This is definitely a worthwhile project. I think a lot of students would care to see the presentation. I would recommend it to my classes,” Wacker said.

The program was created for employees at every level of the organization, according to a recent press release.

To receive group discounts, all tickets for the group must be ordered at the same time.

Ticket prices for the series vary depending on the number in your group. Prices start at $299 for one person and work their way down to $259 for 30 or more group members.

Ticket prices increase $50 per ticket for orders received after Sept. 3.
