Astronomers club to present unpublished slides
June 12, 1996
Attention all star-gazers and space buffs: The Ames Area Amateur Astronomers will be presenting a slide show with some never before published slides taken from the Hubble Space Telescope.
The presentation will be held Saturday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park. If the weather is clear, bring some warm clothing and join the club and its 12.5-inch telescope after the meeting for some serious star-gazing.
McFarland Park is located in the northeast area of Ames. To find the park, take Highway 30 west onto Interstate 35, go north on 35 and take the 13th St. exit. Turn west and proceed to the stoplights at Dayton, turn north and drive until you come to a T-intersection. Turn right and the conservation center is a quarter of a mile ahead on the left.
