AWOPBOPALOOBOP-AWOPBAMBOOM! That can only mean one thing— the gang from Riddale High is back and they’re coming to Des Moines.

The official Broadway Production of Grease! will be playing at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines for eight high-octane shows starting tonight and sliding through to June 30.

The what-ever-happened-to cast includes Joe Piscopo as disc jockey “Vince Fontaine,” MacKenzie Phillips playing the once Rosie O’Donnell role of “Rizzo,” and Tom Hanks’ buddy in Bachelor Party, Adrian Zmed as “Danny Zuko.”

Other actors rounding out the cast are: Ali McLennan as “Sandy,” Kevin Anthony as “Teen Angel” and Marilyn Cooper as the tough-as-nails principal, “Miss Lynch.”

Sing along to favorites like the classic ’50s ode to lovesickness, “Since I Don’t Have You” and the doo-woppy “Beauty School Dropout.”

Dance along, or just tap your toes, to director/choreographer Jeff Calhoun’s explosive, Tony-nominated dances like “Born to Hand Jive,” “Greased Lightnin'” and “Shakin’ at the High School Hop.”

Tickets for Grease! are still available at the Civic Center Box Office or charge by phone at 233-1888. For more information on dates and prices call the Civic Center at 288-2442.
