Reiman gardens will hold its first event, “Music in the Garden,” May 4, 1996, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“People can browse around the garden,” said extension program specialist, Linda Naeve. “It’s sort of an open house with music.”

The Iowa State flute choir will perform for those in attendance. “We’re hoping for good weather,” she said.

Reiman Gardens Co-Horts are the sponsors of the event. They are made up of volunteers that help support the gardens through planting flowers, giving tours and fundraising, Naeve said.

She said the gardens will have something for children this summer. About June 9, “we will have a story time.”

Children will have a chance to witness the garden during the summer and have the opportunity to have several stories read to them.
