Iowa Stat faculty member who was the victim of a hit and run car accident Tuesday was listed in serious condition at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Wednesday afternoon.
Gloria Cain, 48, an academic adviser in the computer science department sustained multiple injuries to her head and extremities, according to Jerry Steward, the assistant director of the Iowa State Department for Public Safety.
Cain was originally taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center and transported from there to Iowa Methodist Medical Cente in Des Moines.
However, Mary Greeley officials misinformed the Daily on Tuesday evening that Cain had been treated and released.
Cain was hit near the Molecular Biology Building by a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Ames resident. DPS later located the vehicle and the driver off-campus.
Stewart said the case is still being investigaged and no charges have yet been filed.
