Surratt to perform in recital
April 21, 1996
The music department will once again play host to a guest performer from another school in the Midwest.
Tonight at 5:10, the Iowa State music department will host one of its last recitals of the semester in the Recital Hall of the Music Building. The short concert will feature the talents of Michael Surratt from Hinsdale, Ill., on organ compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Louis Marchand, Jon Spong and Niels Gade.
Surratt is practicing his talents as adjunct instructor of organ at Elmhurst College in Illinois and as the music director for the Union Church United Church of Christ in Hinsdale. He learned the techniques he will demonstrate tonight at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music at Northwestern and at the Chicago Theological Seminary.
The concert is free and open to the public.
