Ten Iowa State female students were honored recently with awards from the Iowa State University Women’s Club.
The club honors students each year for their accomplishments in academics, activities in the university and community leadership, said Kitty Lamont, a member of the group’s awards committee.
Lamont said the club is a philanthropic one and is made up of women who are faculty or staff at ISU and women whose spouses are involved with the university. She said the club, formerly called the Faculty Women’s Club, will be celebrating its 100th anniversary next year.
Lamont said about 30 or 40 students apply for the awards every year.
