To get a little exercise and learn about another culture, you might want to check out a performance and dance class at the Physical Education Building.
Tomorrow, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the Olabayo Olaniyi and the Yoruba Cultural Group from the Nike Center for Arts and Culture in Oshogbo, Nigeria, will give a master dance class lesson in room 196 of the P.E. Building. The group is hosted by the Ames Few Dance and Theatre Company.
Later tomorrow evening, they will give a performance in the same room, where they will have a chance to share their traditional Yoruba music, dance and storytelling. The performance begins at 7 p.m. in 196 P.E.B.
Admission to both events is free and open to the public. They are sponsored by the ISU Dance Department, Center for Indigenous Knowledge for Agriculture and Rural Development and Committee on Lectures (funded by GSB).
