Former football player arrested again

A former Iowa State football player was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated Friday, officials said.

Mickal L. Horacek, 22, of 4124 Harris St., was arrested at 1:07 a.m. on the corner of Aplin Road and Beedle Drive, according to the Ames Police Department. He was released on a citation.

This is the second time Horacek was arrested in the last two weeks. According to police records, he was arrested on April 8 on a charge of fourth-degree theft after allegedly cashing a $168 check and its replacement, after reporting it stolen.

Horacek said he had no comment on the incident.
