The Psychic Fair comes to Ames (but you knew that)
April 21, 1996
Did you ever find yourself humming a tune and then flip on the radio only to find the same song playing? Or have you had a dream that came true? These could be more than just coincidence. They could be psychic experiences.
According to Paul Kellogg, a representative of the Midwest Inner Peace Movement, everyone has 50 to 100 psychic impressions every day. He said the natural sensitivity comes as a hunch, vision, precognition or a feeling.
Tonight, The Inner Peace Movement, a non-profit educational organization known for its common-sense approach to the mystical, is sponsoring a Psychic Fair at the Ames Public Library, located at 515 Douglas Ave.
Susan Kellogg, also a Midwest IPM representative, said the focus of the fair is to “de-mystify” the psychic experience. “It’s a natural experience,” she explained. “We sense things; that’s how we tap into those things. It’s a balance of feeling and thought.”
Kellogg explained that in the past, people have been taught to use intellect over any impressions they might feel. But, she added, that education is “catching up.”
“People are hungry for this kind of thing,” she said. “And it’s good to be skeptical because that means you want to find out for yourself. You shouldn’t have blind faith.”
Trained prophetics, clairvoyants, intuitives and psychometrists will give impressions on the past, present and future through the use of tarot and angel cards, palmistry, psychometry, clairvoyant “third eye” impressions and aura vision.
“They will give you an impression — inspiration that can help,” Kellogg said.
“Many people want to know about life purpose — why am I here? You get answers to this through many people.”
Kellogg said one purpose of the fair, other than introducing people to The Inner Peace Movement, is to teach people that anyone can unfold their own unique psychic sensitivity.
“It’s very positive and uplifting,” she explained. “Everyone has untapped potential. If you’re breathing, if you have a soul, you have it.”
Free lectures on life purpose, the seven-year cycle, life after death and trusting one’s own impressions will be given throughout the evening. Highlighting the talks will be information on guardian angels and how to contact them.
The Psychic Fair is open to the public, and it runs from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Admission is $15 and includes three impressions of your choice. For more information, call 1-800-336-8008.
