Just common sense

To The Editor:

On Friday, April 5, 1996, Angela Kaisand wrote “ISU researchers look for HIV cure” saying:

“In the work toward a cure for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS…”

This doesn’t make sense, because you can NOT cure virus; you can kill the virus, twist the virus, get the virus, but why do you want to “cure” them?

Is the HIV virus sick or anything? I hope the reporters of Daily can be more accurate and have some common sense when they write a report on a scientific topic.

By the way, English 105 teaches this stuff.
