Cy-Ride to offer Veishea shuttles

Cy-Ride will be running special shuttles this weekend to help people reach Veishea activities.

“We have a parade shuttle running,” said Tom Budd, Cy-Ride operations assistant.

A shuttle bus will run from Iowa State Center along the orange route to the east side of campus on Wallace Road and Osborn Drive from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Budd said.

The shuttle buses will run more frequently in the morning and every 10 to 15 minutes in the afternoon, he said.

Notes on the Cy-Ride bus stop signs will say where to catch the nearest bus detoured from certain roads in the city blocked by Veishea activities, Budd said.

“From about 7 p.m. to about 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday night we will run a free night shuttle from west Ames,” Budd said.

The shuttle will follow a portion of the green route all the way to campus to the Richardson Court Residence Halls.

Cy-Ride will also run their free door-to-door Moonlight Express service from 10:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.

“Our objective with the Moonlight Express is to get people from point A to point B. We have no criteria for people riding it,” said Budd.
