Renowned pianist to perform tonight

Julie Kline

This evening Iowa State students have the opportunity to hear a nationally renowned Iowa pianist perform.

The music department will offer the community the talents of Drake professor Guy Wuellner, a musician as well known for his writing, lectures and teaching as for his playing.

The concert, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Recital Hall of the Music Building will feature Wuellner performing Mozart’s B-flat Sonata, Beethoven’s “Apassionata” and Samuel Barber’s sonata composed for the 25th anniversary of the League of Composers. He will also play “Lieberstraume No. 3” and “Erster Mephisto-Walzer” by Franz Liszt.

Wuellner has practiced the techniques he will be demonstrating in concerts at colleges and major European cities.

The recital is free and open to the public.
