To the Editor:

Your editorial incorrectly stated that food stamps would be discontinued.

In addition, it failed to mention that 1,200,000 U.S. workers would continue working. If this government shutdown does occur, the message that should be received is that we are overly dependent on the government. It should also be apparent to all those watching that, sadly, we are so far into debt that our government is already out of money, and we still have several months left to go before we have another tax collection.

God bless the Republicans for attempting to right this wrong and attempting to balance the budget. Hopefully, Clinton will come around to signing the CR and allowing my dad to get his paycheck this week.
