An Ames man was found dead, with a single gunshot wound to the head Tuesday morning at a home in the 800 block of Top-O-Hollow Road, officials said.

Ames Police Sergeant Jim Robinson said the 38-year-old male’s fatal wound was apparently self-inflicted.

Police are not releasing the man’s name until all family members are notified. No other information was available as of Tuesday night.
