Student arrested on assault charges

A 19-year-old Iowa State student was arrested over the weekend on charges of aggravated assault and going armed with intent to harm.
Authorities said Mark Andrew Riley, 4212 Knapp Hall, was arrested by Department of Public Safety officials at about 10 a.m. Sunday in connection with a disturbance on the fourth floor of Knapp Hall the night before.
Riley allegedly threatened people on the floor with knives. No injuries were reported, and no other details were available.
Aggravated assault is an aggravated misdemeanor and going armed with intent to harm is a Class D felony.
Riley is being held at the Ames Police Department on a $15,000 cash bond.
