Excellence at ISU

To the Editor:

With all the talk of excellence in teaching, I would like to point out some examples.

One is Ron Peters who teaches Brain and Behavior. He has been likened to a game show host, which is appropriate. He does a good job with the psychological aspect, but less with the zoological side.

Perhaps the best lecturer I have had is Bob Wallace. He combines his sense of humor and charisma with his knowledge of the biological sciences and ISUprograms of courses to relate to students’ daily lives. He does impressions. He also ‘raises the dead’ by getting students involved in the lecture — by asking them things that upperclassmen should know. Usually students do.

This is a teacher who could make Professor based on his teaching. He seems to be involved in so many things. I hope he retires here and more like him join the faculty.
